were by no means disgraced against a much bigger side
containing several Barnard Castle boys who showed why
their school has such a strong rugby reputation. Either side of half time our lads were camped in their 22 showing lots of skill and determination but they just couldn't get over the line. The 15's had no such problem. They went behind with the slope and the wind in their faces but fought back with a well taken try from Chris Lambert and an excellent conversion from Tom Dixon and then they never looked back. "Lil Mikey" Young got his customary try from scrum half and then got himself sin-binned after retaliating against a truculent prop. So we played four finals - three against Darlington with wins for the Under 17's and 15's and - and against Gateshead where the 18's narrowly lost. |

The Under 15's rounded off an excellent season with a superb show against a strong Darlington side in the County Cup at Stockton. They won 31-12 but the Under 14's came unstuck - also against Darlo - losing their final 37-0.
