There was plenty of effort form our lads and it might have been different if we had been able to finsih off our best move of the game on 18 minutes. Paul Rudd chased a loose ball into their 22 and we won the ball from the ruck to quickly feed Jamie Connolly. Tank had Darren Thomas clear on his left but went for the option of passing back inside but the ball went to ground.
By this time we were 7-3 down. Matt Lloyd had gone over for the home side and Chris Quinn had converted while Stabs had already got our only score of the game - a superb 40 metre penalty.
We were having trouble clearing our lines - handing back possession on a number of occasions and the set pieces weren't working too well either against a much bigger set of forwards.
But we tackled hard and considering how much possession Huddersfield had it was to our credit that the half time score was only 10-3.
Unfortunately, nothing we could do could change the pattern of the game and after Tim Sawyer was sin-binned on 47 minutes Adam Lancaster finished off a forwards drive to go over to make it 15-3.
We did make a rare foray into the home 22 on 68 minutes with Davy Tighe driving the foreards on. Carlo went for the line in the top right corner and appeared to have got over but Referee Alan Taylorson incurred the wrath of West's 100 travelling supporters [not for the first time] by giving the home side a penalty - presumably for not releasing.
Worse was to come for Carlo when he was also sin binned for pulling down at a line out and Quinn slotted the penalty.
Huddersfield's final trty came shortly after when the bulky and speedy Pete Naivalura went over for a converted try.
