Player of the Year

Player of the Year
Great First Season
Jamie Connolly and Darren Thomas are through to the final of the West Website Player of the Year competition. Both polled 31% of the vote so I have used my casting vote to decide that they will both go through to the Grand Final.

We are now taking votes for the best forward of the year. To make sure the final balances up I will take the top two players from that vote so that we have four in the final. Hope that sounds fair! Incidentally, the players chosen among the six to vote for is based on the number of appearances they have made ... not my idea of whether they had a good season or not! I am a coward.

But back to the backs. Connolly and Thomas were runaway winners with young Thomas undoubtedly picking up votes for his tremendous team attitude and his willingness to play anywhere Stabs asked him without complaint. Only in the past couple of weerks has Davy Tighe's unfortunate injury let him play at scrum half where he has been excellent. Connolly, of course, is just a class act!
