West 8 Morley 29
Man of the Match
West were beaten by a cameo performance from Morley skipper and former Wales stand off Colin Stephens. He scored ALL of their points thanks to 7 penalties, one try and one drop goal. In reply our skipper got one pen and our try.

Stephens is the runaway points scorer in the league and without doubt the reason why Morley are unbeaten.

It was his penalties which beat us. Any indiscretion in our half was instantly punished and we were slow to learn our lessons.

The scoreline masked a much better West performance. We were the better side in the first half hour and our pack rattled the vistitors. In the second we had the territory without looking likely to score until Jamie forced his way over for the final score.

In between it was a dour battle on a damp pitch. We can take heart from superb performances from, in particular, Henry Tones, Chocky Davies and Davy Tighe but we simply are not scoring tries.
