Kerr and Laycock To Return?
Gareth Kerr
Gareth Kerr and Mark Laycock could both be in the side to take on top of the table Morley at Brinkburn on Saturday [2.00] Falcons Under 21's don't have a game and coach Paul MacKinnon has been asked to allow the pair to play for us. Meanwhile full back Bradley Stovell joins the club.

MacKinnon has given his blessing, which means that Gareth will almost certainly be in the team, but Mark also has to get permission from Ted Wood the Durham University coach. Watch this space.

New 19 year old full back Bradley Stovell is also likely to figure in the squad after his registration was rushed through today [Thursday]. Stovell is from Redcar and comes from Stabler's connections when he was coach over there.

The youngster has trained with us this week and has impressed.

But we could certainly do with both Laycock and Kerr on Saturday. The serious shoulder and elbow injury to Andrew Hare leaves us very thin in the backs .. despite players like Darren Thomas playing out of their skins in whatever position they're asked to turn out.

Morley will present a stiff test. Captain Colin Stephens is probably the form player in the whole of the league at the moment and is leading the kicking table with 4 cons, 8 pens and 3 drop goals .... warning there for our flankers.

Surprisingly Aspatria ran Morley close last week eventually losing by 18-13 in Yorkshire.
