Home Debuts For Emmerson and Dono

West will have two new faces in the ranks as we take on West Park St Helens in the our first home game in North One. Matt Emmerson returns to the club he last played for in the Premiership, and starts in the back row, while new winger Glynn Dono comes from the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

Glyn has recently left the Army, met the West lads in the gym, said he had always fancied playing rugby, "come on up said Stabs," and now he's in the team.

Dono is 26, tall and weighs sixteen and a half stone and is a strong runner.

Team manager Dave Ince says: "He has a lot of attributes and is learning very quickly. He is a big fast lad and a force to be reckoned with."

Matt Emmerson is still only 29 and highly experienced. He was coaching York last season but is now working in Durham and, despite having a surfeit of back rows ,Stabler is happy to have him back.

He says: "We have already seen that this will be a hard league from our trip to Chester and we have to learn fast about life in North One. Matt has the kind of experience to help us through and to help the young lads.

Emmerson lines up alongside Henry Tones, who was outstanding last week, and Stuart Bennett who is itching for a game after his lengthy ban.

Tim Sawyer is away at a wedding as is Nicky Parker. Michael White is away working so Paul Rudd will partner Chocky in the second row.

Rudd has quietly been improving week on week and had an excellent game in the second row against Westoe.

Our scrummaging against Chester left a lot to be desired so Stabs and forwards coach John Painter have rung the changes. Michael Geritz returns to partner Painter and Cullinane.

Allan Milne is also away so Darren Thomas drops back to 15 to let Dono come in on the wing.

West Park will be hard opposition. They came from behind to beat Darlington in a 70 point thriller last weekend.
