Stabler Returns

Stabler Returns
Fly Half
Coach John Stabler returns to the West side to take on Mowden Park in the attractive Easter holiday game. [Brinkburn Saturday Kick Off 3.00]. Stabs is back because of the injury crisis in the backs with Allan Milne the latest victim after he limped off last week.

It means that skipper Jamie Connolly returns to inside centre where he'll be partnered by Gareth Kerr. Either Henry Tones or Paul Rudd will start on one wing, with Tommy Barff on the other, and Phil Cuff continuing at full back where he had an excellent game against league leaders Doncaster.

So did Darren Thomas, getting a rare start in his favourite No 9 shirt, and he'll be looking forward to pitting his wits against Richard Holbrough who returns for Mowden...he had a lot of teeth knocked out against Sandal.

Ollie will be at fly half for the visitors. His conversion beat us in the last second at their place and West's players are eager to get one back on their mates from Darlo.

Mowden's Jim Dyson was at Brinkbrun last Sunday and was full of praise for the spirit we showed against Donnie. He also freely admits we should have won at Mowden and will be urging his team to not take a depleted West for granted.

Still they can afford to start with England Under 21 prop James Isaacson on the bench. He played for Falcons in a couple of games early in the season but is on loan to Mowden until the end of this season.
