Brinkburn Latest

A working party will meet within the next few weeks to decide how to make best use of the playing fields at Brinkburn. It follows a meeting with the Mayor and council officials to discuss West's plans for the land in conjunction with Hartlepool Sixth Form College.

Neil Midgeley, the Chair of the Sixth Form Governors, accompanied yours truly and West vice-Chairman Stu Murray to the meeting in the Civic Centre.

We already have agreement with the College for use of their pitches on a Saturday and Sunday as well as for the pavilion on Catcote Road.

Now we will work with the College, the Council and representatives of the soccer teams who use Brinkburn to produce a plan which makes best use of the land.

Stuart Murray said: "It is a very positive step and definitely the way forward in developing both the rugby and soccer facilities as well as helping us in our bid for Sports Lottery funding."
