Reg, who was 81, had watched the closely fought game with Chester from his usual seat in the stand and was returning to the clubhouse when he collapsed alongside the Chester coach.
The club would like to record its apprecation of the immediate medical help given to Reg by the Chester players and, in particular, Chester's Director of Rugby Tim Doig and player Nathan Sandland-Jones, our own coach Tim Sawyer and player Jon Cole, nurse Helen Laycock and the physios from both clubs.
Our thanks also to the paramedics and ambulance for their very speedy response.
All of our thoughts are with Joyce, son and daughter Stephen and Susan, and the granchildrern.
Full tributes and funeral details will follow.
