The game at Scratcherd Lane back on October 1st was arguably our worst performance of the season. On a remarkably hot day we went down 29-20 after missing a host of tackles in midfield -only waking up in the last quarter.

Sadly it was a game in which Jon Norris sustained a shoulder injury which has gone on to effectively end his rugby "career" at a very early age. Nogger is now devoting his energies to helping coach at Old Boys and we wish him all the best.

So we need to put a couple of records straight and we also need to give our home supporters something to cheer about. We have not played at home since we beat Burnage back when Santa was still preparing his sleigh.

We do have four out of the last six at home, which would have been handy if we were fighting for promotion or battling against relegation. The first is extremely unlikely, if not mathematically impossible, and  the latter will also become more remote if we can beat Morley.

Our visitors have slipped back into the bottom three courtesy of Burnage being able to win on their plastic pitch last week. They have done themselves a power of good with home wins over Waterloo and Sandal but have yet to win an away game this season.

But they are still confident of moving up the table and are capable of scoring points  specially from winger  Simon Bradshaw - their goal kicker and leading try scorer - who has just received a club award for passing the 1,000 points mark.

We will be missing Stu Waites and Tom Dixon but otherwise it's a strong squad.  Stu has just about recovered from the leg injury which curtailed his time on the pitch at Lymm, while Tom has undergone minor heart surgery [f there is such a thing].  He is recovering on a stag weekend in Latvia with Michael Hogan likely to partner Chocky in the second row.

Gareth Foreman is available again and so is Colin Cheslin who is likely to take the full back shirt.
