The game at Scratcherd Lane back on October 1st was arguably our worst performance of the season. On a hot day, with some monumental wasps buzzing round the clubhouse, we went down 29-20 after missing a host of tackles in midfield -only waking up in the last quarter.

The overall performance at a very cold and windy Penrith last week was a better one, but still far below the standard we set ourselves at places like Mowden Park and Beverley. The father of temporary England coach Stuart Lancaster was watching and you can only admire the family's devotion to the game if he stayed till the end.

So we need to put a couple of records straight and we also need to give our home supporters something to cheer about. The fixture list hasn't been kind to the club, or the treasurer, with only one home game in the months of  December, January and February.

We do have four out of the last six at home, which would have been handy if we were fighting for promotion or battling against relegation. The first is extremely unlikely, if not mathematically impossible, and  the latter will also become more remote if we can beat Morley. That would put a bit more distance between ourselves and the bottom three -  currently a gap of 12 points.

Anth Carr is away so Ross Wood will start. Liam Bailey and Michael Taylor return after work commitments got in the way last week, while Gareth Foreman returns at fly half after recovering from the knock he took on Boxing Day. Stu Waites returns to full back while there's  changes in the centre with Luke Watson missing because of a neck injury. Fortunately, Gav Robinson has recovered from a badly cut hand, and Andrew Cheslin takes over from Peter Hodgson with Greg Edwards on the wing.

Morley arrive eager for points to keep their recent revival going. They beat Waterloo at home last week, with a try in injury time, and at the start of a January campaign where they have targetted enough wins to get them out of trouble. After their last minute excitement they won't have been pleased to see Penrith bag five points against us.

Despite their lowly position Morley feature the league's highest points scorer in winger Simon Bradshaw - their goal kicker and leading try scorer with nine.
