... but the big desire in the club is to push on and at least finish in the top third of the league

We've now seen all of the sides in the division. We were pretty hopeless, it has to be said, in the very first game at Sandal and were given a runaround in the first half at Chester, but apart from that we've been very competitive in every game. Our friends at Mowden will testify to that.

We have more home games than away games in the second half of the season with most of the top sides having to visit Brinkburn.

But first there's the visit to Marl Pits where Rossendale will be smarting after their defeat at Beverley last week. They had been the form side in the league but  discovered that Beverley are not that bad a side and are highly likely to get themselves out of trouble.

We will have to continue where we left off at  Mowden if we are to get anything out of the game. Rossendale's pitch has more postponed games than any other and ,if the game goes ahead, it will be heavy going - both up and down the slope.

One of the keys to our steady  run has been the strength of the squad with the likes of Greg Edwards, Craig Gilmour and Ross Wood moving up ffrom the Stags and doing a superb job.

Ross will be in the front row with Anth Carr having work commitments. In the backs Gareth Foreman has similar problems so Stu Waites takes the shirt with Colin Cheslin at full back.
