The 58 year old, who was born in the town but went to Barnard Castle School, is the Project Director for Sir Robert McAlpine.
He will feature on BBC Look North on Wednesday July 27th in a profile filmed by Jeff Brown who says: "Tony speaks very fondly of his time at West - remembering some well known names such as Baggs, Stubbs and Boyd.
"At the moment he has the most important job in British construction and by all accounts is making a first class job of it."

Dave Stubbs says:"Tony was in those days a big man who was also an athlete. We played sevens together very successfully but I don’t remember him being a big imbiber.
"He played second row for the first team at a time when six foot three was a giant.He had strawberry blond hair or ginger to you and me, but was always a gentleman and of all the guys I played with he is the one where memories of games keep coming flooding back, and they are all good memories."
