The Bucks were due to play Northallerton this Saturday, but the opposition cried off last night as they're unable to raise a side. That should definitely mean the Bucks follow the Stags in becoming Tees Valley Merit League champions.

So it's the Stags who finish off a season which has seen the firsts promoted back to the National Leagues, the Stags already hailed as champions of a competitive CaNDY League first division and the Bucks County Cup winners as well as being at the top of their league.

The Stags have already beaten the Heughers twice this season but there's no doubt the youthful Friarage side will be desperate to make a point.

They'll be taking on a Stags side which has an interesting blend of experience and youth. Davy Tighe skippers the team, after coming back from retirement, and he'll be joined by some players who have been in and out of the first team this season including Andrew Dixon, Carl Miller, Darren Thomas, Paul Moss and Stu Waites.

Greg Edwards also has first team experience, of course, before missing virtually  the whole of last season with a bad knee injury. This time around he has been one of the star performers for the all conquering Stags.

But there's also plenty of up and coming players in the side including Ryan Painter at full back, Chris Young and Alex Barker on the flanks, Joe Rafferty and Andy Robson in the second row and Ross Wood at prop.  And what do you say of Andy Palmer. the veteran prop is still enjoying his rugby and is looking to add the Pyman Cup to the Third Team County Cup victory he was part of last week.
