They are currently in second bottom place and certainly need a couple of wins from their last three games [home to Pontefract and away to Wheatley Hills] to reach safety.

Rovers are relegated and it looks like Driffield, who have finished all of their games, are doomed so the fight is on to avoid the final relegation place.

Our challenge is to ge the points which will take us above Percy Park as the highest scoring and lowest conceding side in the league. 

We also want to maintain our winning record. In the course of the campaign we lost only two games - both by a hair's breadth. At Old Brodleians it was our own fault that we didn't use our second half territorial advantage to score more than one try - inevitably losing to a rare break from the home side.

At Percy Park we were undone by a controversial try in injury time when the home touchjudge flagged for a foot in touch but the try was awarded. To add insult to injury the match winning conversion was kicked.

Our sporting battle with Park has galvanised our season and both clubs have this week exchanged congratulations and best wishes.  Park host Stockport based Burnage on Saturday in the play-off and it would certainly suit our treasuer if James Ponton's lads win through.

There will be enough trips acorss the M62 next season, although the likes of Chocky and Stocker would no doubt appreciate Burnage's country club facilities which include a 3G pitch, canoeing on the adjoining River Mersey and a 9 hole golf course.

Stockdale is still vying for top try scorer but will have to do his best from the front row against Northern. Jon Norris is away on the Old Boys tour which means he can shave his beard off when he returns.

Carl Miller, who has been on top form on his recent apparances, starts in the back row but otherwise it's the same pack which starts the game.

The backs are unchanged from the seven who started against Cleckeaton.
