A frosty night is forecast, but providing the pitch thaws in time, we will be looking for revenge against Old Brodleians. They triumphed 7-5 in front of a partisan crowd at Hipperholme back in October.

Their pitch has a big slope and they used it in the  first half spurning a couple of kickable penalties to go for  tries. They didn't get any and there was no score at half-time.

In the first minute of the second half Adam Howard powered over and we went on to have all the territory, but a combination of whistle, naivety and strong home defence kept us out.  Inevitably, we fell to a sucker punch when, from a rare home attack, a chip over the top bounced kindly and Brods got their 7 points.

The game was most notable for not having a single penalty attempt on goal.

Brods are continuing to have a fine season, claiming a few more notable scalps, and are currently lying in fifth place. They have lost their last two games - at home to Percy Park and away to Pontefract.

Tom Dixon remains our long term injury victim after tearing a calf muscle in the warm up at Rovers.  So the team is the same one selcted to face Northern last week, but with Adam Howard and Paul Moss coming in as replacements.
