The City game will now be played on Saturday April 2nd which was the last date available. Any more call-offs and the new league championship games will be under threat - together with the prospect of mid-week games where promotion and relegation issues are at stake.
The most immediate issue is the Boxing Day game at Brinkburn against Rovers. The current forecast is for a thaw heading into Christmas so let's keep fingers crossed that the game can go ahead, and bring a bit of festive cheer.
Ironically the two sides are scheduled tio meet in the League at the New Friarage on January 8th. That would nomrally have meant a Boxing Day run-out for young and up and coming playeers, but both sets of coaches are now likely to use the game to give as many first teamers as possible a leg stretch. If it's on.
