Kelleythorpe has been far from a happy hunting ground for West. It began with a superb 49-0 performance by the home side in a game where they could do nothing wrong running in some superb tries from every direction.
That was followed by a 22-17 end of season game which we should have won, followed by a 31-29 defeat where Tom Dixon could have sneaked it. Sadly he missed a tricky last minute penalty.
The last encounter was in our promotion season - and another game we should have won. We turned round at half time with the slope and a veritable gale at our backs, and all we had to do was kick it into the corner. For some strange reason we only did that once and managed to lose 18-8.
In those days Driff were always in with a chance in the top half of the league, but so far this season they've only managed two victories. They have been hit by long term injuries but are getting players back, which is no doubt why they're anxious to take on the league leaders after that win in Northumberland.
Frankly, we owe them one after that series of results. If we continue where we left off at Team Northumbria we should certainly get our reward.
The pack were tremendous speically into the strong wind in the second half, and it is the same 8 who will continue.
In the backs Adam Larkin returns with Gavin Robinson continuing in the centre after a strong tackling and try scoring display last week. Darren Thomas, Scott Jordan and Peter Hodgson are all out of contention with injuries.
