Blaydon included a handful of players who beat Launceston on Saturday including our old sparring pal Kerry Woods [ex Driffield and Westoe] and their coach Tom Rock.
Paul Vinnicombe was also back to face his old side and inevitably scored.
The visitors set off like a train with some eager squad players looking to impress their coach. Rock himself went through a gap in the second minute which regular fly half Andrew Baggett converted.<.p>
Fortunately, Baggett then went on to have something of a kicking nightmare - but his ability to take the ball at pace and get his backs moving was a major feature of his side's success.
Vinni got his try on 14 minutes it looked like the floodgates might already be open. However, the lads stuck to their game, with Mossy opting to kick for the corner rather than go for 3 points, and we spent some considerable time in the visiting 22.
Chocky eventually got on the scoresheet afetr the pack drove him over to make it 5-12 at the break.
We were definitely very much in the game at half time but the old problem of missed tackles costing us dear surfaced just two minutes in. Replacement back row David Williams got the try and went on to have a superb second half.
We did come back but two tries in a couple of minutes by scrum half Paul Armstrong put the tie beyond our reach.
Jonny Boatman got one back on 57 minutes, Adam Howard scord in the corner on 69 and Stu Waites capped an energetic ten minute run out by sneaking through on 79 minutes. In between Blaydon managed to get three tries of their own to make it an enertaining game for the holiday crowd.
Now w have to build on that performance in the remaining two home games and hope to at least finish off the bottom of the table.
