Beverley Preview
Skipper Returns
Beverley are the visitors [kick off 2.15] as we reach the half way stage of the season. So, we will have played everyone and, while league tables don't lie, it must be said that it is quite an even league with nobody really to fear in the way that Westoe and Hull have been in recent seasons.

This season was always going to be challenging after losing the likes of Aaron Myers, Iain Dixon, Paul Vinnicombe and Iain Robinson to higher league clubs.

Losing Tim Sawyer and Gareth Kerr to long term injuries isn't helping. The latest news is that Sawyer needs another knee operation.

Fortunately, we have County skipper Andrew Dixon to come in and there are other bonuses - specially in the shape of Adam Howard whose presence around the pitch has done much to compensate for the loss of Myers. He is also showing leadership off the pitch with a solid determination to help the club get out of relegation problems.

Skipper Anth Carr and Carl Robinson return to the front row, Paul Rudd joins Tom Dixon in the second row, and Adam Howard packs at No 8. Talented scrum half Harry Readhead is back in the starting line up alonsgide Gavin Robinson.

Winning our fair share of possession hasn't been the problem this season but ten minute spells, where we fall off tackles and generally lose concentration, has been.

Beverley arrive on the back of three home including last week's 24-16 win over promotion hopefuls Stockport.

Thursday's training session was made up largely of a team meeting. Let's hope it produces a full 80 minutes of sensible solid rugby by a team pulling out the stops for each other.
