We got off a bad start when full back Tom Wilson was injured in the first tackle and had to be helped off.
Ten minutes later s Dan Boatman, playing second row and returning from a broken leg, was yellow carded for coming in at the side and Westoe took advantage with prop Gareth Nesbit finishing of a driving maul.
We then enjoyed our best spell forcing Westoe into defending deep in their own 22 but they held out despite former West second row Iain Robinson being sin-binned for persistent offside.
The half ended with Westoe gaining a second push over try, this time from flanker Ryan Foster, to make it 0-10 at the break.
The floodgates opened on 54 minutes after a host of changes in the home line-up. Former Blaydon fly half Charlie Raynor raced in under the posts to give himself an easy conversion, then speedy centre James Clark got the first of two breakaway tries from his own 22 after Jamie Connolly had spilled the ball.
Former West winger Mark Olugbode embarrassed our defence when he galloped in without a tackle from 20 metres.
Full back replacement Lawrie Bridges completed our misery right on time with another breakaway try from his own half.

After running in 17 tries in our previous two games it was our turn to be given a lesson in finishing by the sharp Westoe backs. They ran in 5 tries in the last quarter after both sides had shown strong defence in a keenly contested game.
