West 46 Rovers 5
4 tries
Andrew Cheslin scored four tries as West ran in the points in the second half against a hard working Rovers. The hastily arranged friendly saw Rovers start off well but they were thwarted throughout by a strong West defence.

That provided the platform for the second half try blitz which also saw Scott Butcher, Jamie Connolly, Paul Moss and Gareth Kerr get on the score sheet. Andrew Dring got Rovers' consolation.

The win was secured despite a number of changes with both Chocky Davies and Darren Thomas late back from holiday. Paul Rudd took over in the second row, despite not training, and Dave Garside also returned to the club and had a few minutes on the field to blow the cobwebs away.

Tom Wilson was the man to take on the 15 shirt and he impressed throughout including a brief spell when he replaced Paul Moss at 10.

There was a one minute silence before the game to honour the memory of Rifleman Daniel Wild of the 2nd Battallion of Rifles who died in Afghanistan earlier this month.
