Good Start

Good Start
Mossy
Paul Moss's summer spell playing Rugby League certainly seems to have done him no harm. The West No 10 was the pick of a multitude of West players as we ran in 9 tries against Gateshead's 2.

Mossy scored himself as he regularly took on the Gateshead defence and his tackling was as sharp as it was against Rovers in the Oakes game.

Only he, Jonny Boatman [at 8] and Darren Thomas played most of the game with wholesale changes every 20 minutes.

Fresh legs from the many young players blooded by Messrs Oliphant and Sawyer gave Gateshead a hard time on a hot afternoon. The visitors did put up some stern defence and both sides will have benefited.

It was all achieved without a number of first teamers who were either ill or on holiday including Chocky Davies , Gareth Kerr, Aaron Myers, Dan Boatman, Carl Robinson, Colin Cheslin and Stu Waites.
