Dicker is off to Wharfedale where he may have to settle for a place on the wing, rather than at full back, while Vinnie is staying closer to home.
He'll be fighting for a place in the back row at Blaydon alongside another new boy well known to West supporters - former Driffield and Westoe flanker Kerry Woods.
West coach Kevan Oliphant is naturally disappointed to be losing two of his more experienced players but says: "Both lads are leaving for the right reasons. They've been offered rugby at a higher level and want to give it a go. They both know that if they want to come back here at any time they'll be very welcome."
The arrival of Matt Holmes is therefore very timely. He's also played at Wakefield and Mowden and will help fill the gap in experience left by the departures.
Another boost is the return to training of Chocky Davies after his suspension. So is the speedy return to training of Dan Boatman who broke his leg in an end of season 7s tournament.
One bit of sad news is an injury to former Westie Gav Painter. He is likely to miss the whole season at rivals Mowden Park because of a knee injury. Best wishes to Gav for a full recovery.
