Rovers in Cup

Rovers in Cup
The news that we have been drawn away to Rovers in the County Cup has strangely failed to excite the supporters of both clubs. The game, which is due to be played on or before November 21st, promises to be the highlight of the competition.

The fact that the winners have the difficult task of taking on Blaydon, in the next round of the revamped Senior Cup, cannot surely be the reason that there has been very little comment? Nor can the fact that certain voluble supporters appear to have started their summer hibernation.

Perhaps players and supporters of both clubs are more concerned with getting a good pre-season under their belts? Rovers will be competing in a new and highly competitive league, while the new National Three North looks like it will be a tough one with the likes of Chester, Sheffield Tigers, Birkenhead Park and Mowden Park fromidable opponents - and the rest not far behind.Perhaps, come November, both clubs will be looking to the Senior Cup clash to provide some light relief.
