Big Night for Club

Big Night for Club
The Under 18s have capped a great season by wuinning the County Cup on the same night as the Stags beat Seaton Carew to go into the Pyman Final But quite when that Final will be played is still not known. Horden II's front row have work commitments and can't play on May 6th.

This weekend may provide an alternative date - watch this space.

The Under 18s had no such problem facing a big Blaydon side at Houghton, although they looked like they might be in for a bit of a battering in the first five minutes.

But there is plenty of class in their line-up and it quickly told as they ran out worthy 37-14 winners.

It's a tremendous achievement for the "Colts" and their coaching team of Southern, Peart and Corbett. At the beginning of the season nobody quite knew what to expect as the 18's and 17's merged to form the new side.

Now they have added the County Cup to their league title.

The Stags also won the CaNDY league, of course, and will be looking to add the Pyman to the trophy cabinet. After a great unbeaten season in Durham Northumberland Three Seaton were up for the game on their own nice new pitch.

But after learning about pace and power from the second strings of Mowden, Tynedale and Blaydon this season the Stags never looked in trouble and ran out comfortable winners 47-15.
