Word is that West Park are playing some decent rugby but have forgotten how to win. They've brought a couple of new players in in recent weeks and will be hoping to pick up a few victories which will see them stay clear of the national dogfight over who gets relegated in the league restructure at the end of this season.

Basically the two sides with the worst playing records at the bottom of the four level 5 leagues will be relegated. In theory that means two sides from the same league could be unlucky.

Currently West Park are equal on points with Darlington, having only won one game each, but Darlington have played one game more.

Our concern is to build on an excellent team performance at Burton. We overcame the large and noisy crowd, as well as the opposition, to run in worthy winners.

The overnight trip also provided an opportunity to strengthen team spirit. The signs are certainly there that the team is settling into the style of play which has been demanded in training since the summer.

The coaches will be wanting more of the same on Merseyside. We need to keep the momentum going with difficult games against Westoe and Morley looming - not to mention a certain cup game at the end of February.

Iain Dixon is now able to play, following his concussion against Rovers, but will be eased back into things from the bench where he'll sit alongside brother Andy.

Dominic Morrison is away so Adam Coates will be both back row and front row replacement.
