Big Weekend For West

Big Weekend For West
This weekend will be a big one for the club both on and off the pitch. On Friday the Durham Referees Society are our guests for their annual dinner, on Saturday there's the top of the league showdown, and on Sunday the true spirit of rugby will be on show for the Wilf Willgress Memorial Game.

Also on Sunday, of course, Brinkburn will be awash with minis and juniors proving the future of the game is on solid foundations

The Refs will be bringing more than 100 guests from clubs across the County for what is always an entertaining evening. Their dinner will be served by willing volunteers from the junior teams.

Saturday sees the two unbeaten sides in North Two East going head to head. We don't appear to have picked up too many injuries following the hard encounter at Pontefract, although Paul Rudd [ankle] and Carl Miller [fractured collarbone] are both still out of contention.

On Sunday morning players from across the town will help the Amateurs remember one of their best pals - in time honoured fashion. Wilf Willgress's family will once again be providing a buffet and no doubt there will be more than a few sore heads on Monday morning.

Enjoy your weekend.
