John Howe Game: Big Success
For the record the West-Rovers side defeated the Rest of Hartlepool XV by six tries to one. It was a keenly contested game played in a great spirit but, of course, the real winners were the organisers who put on a great day in memory of a great man for a great cause.

So well done to John's sister Joyce, Carlo Robinson from West and Jimmy Campbell from Rovers as well as the host of players and helpers who kept the do going on into the night.

Try scores for West-Rovers included an opportunist chase down by Anth Carr in the first half followed by an excellent mazy run from Michael Young, and typical sharp tries from Andrew Lilley and Brian Foreman.
