Myers is off to Amsterdam for the weekend which means he will miss referee Steve Lee - the Yorkshire official who yellow carded him twice at Sheffield for persistent offside.

Mr Lee had already done the same thing to the home hooker in a game which lost its edge when it went to uncontested scrums. He had consistently warned both players.

Jonny Boatman is suffering with man-flu [although it can't be as bad as mine] so brother Dan moves to 8 with Carl Miller coming in to accompany Henry. Tonesy can be guaranteed to give it some passion and commitment - something which the lads themselves admitted last night had been missing in recent weeks.

The rest of the side more or less picks itself. Martin Todd, who has looked sharp all season, is on the wing slot vacated by Chris Lambert, with Gavin Painter on the other. Young Gav has fully recovered form the bang on the head at Billingham.

Danny Weegram will come back into contention in a few weeks time after his end of the month boxing match.

Carlo Robinson starts this week which means that we will have two props on the bench with Paul Moss the backs replacement. At least the game shouldn't go to uncontested scrums on our behalf.

The game itself has far more import for Percy Park than ourselves. The North Shields lads have picked themslves up in recent weeksleapfrogging Sheffield at the bottom and have won the last two games. They have a glimmer of a chance of getting out of the bottom three.

But whether they continue that run could well depend on which West side turns out. The one which did rather well in 2006 or the one which hasn't taken at all kindly to 2007.

Park have also been hit by illness and injuries with a likely half dozen changes to the side which won last time out at home to Rochdale. They have cancelled the second team cup fixture to make sure they get a first team side out and will have a Saturday morning roll call.
