Davy Tighe has to be content with a place on the bench after the stirring performance by 17 year-old half backs Michael Young and Gavin Painter last week. Paul Rudd also has to give way as Tom Dixon keeps his shirt from last week, while 18 year old Aaron Myers has been passsed fit and slots in between the Boatman brothers in the back row.

Andy Dixon makes his full West debut at hooker and oddly enough he will be the team's oldest player.

The selection is a bold move - but not one based on shaking things up. The players coming in have proven quality as juniors and Colts and have had no trouble in slotting into senior rugby.

James Masshedar starts at full back after a good show at Tech. Neil Howe also showed well last week but is away.

Against a big experienced Middlesbrough side it'll be an interesting duel! The game at Brinkburn a few weeks ago had a distinct lack of quality about it with a workmanlike Boro taking the points - grateful, no doubt, for numerous West handling errors. If we can cut those out at Acklam Park, and release the undoubted pace and talent in the side, we may get the two points we need to stay in contention.
