Liverpool St. Helens have a fly half called Stabler! That, the fact they are unbeaten in North Two West and have a new contingent of Kiwis on show for the first time promises to be make this a more interesting cup game than usual.

But most West supporters will be more interested in how we pick ourselves up after the errors of last week.

Chocky Davies will be missing, after being suspended for eight weeks by the club for his part in the melee which marred the final minute of last week's defeat, witht Carl Miller moving up from the back row. Aaron Myers is back after missing the Middlesbrough game in order to play for Falcons second team at Leeds.

In the front row Jon Norris has been unable to train so Carlo Robinson gets his first start of the season.

The backs were not at their best last week and the coaches are taking the opportunity of the cup to shuffle things around. Martin Todd is away so Gavin Painter starts at full back - he's played there often enough with junior sides and is also an accomplished fly-half.

Phil Wallis is fit again and will start at 10 with Paul Moss stepping down to the Stags to give his mate a much needed run-out. Andrew Hare and Chris Lambert will be on the wings.

The cup allows four replacements and the West bench will see up and coming fly half Gav Robinson and second row Tom Dixon given the chance for some first team experience.

Three Kiwis arrived at Liverpool last ween adn centrre Tarna Makamaka makes an immediate start at inside centre while back row Nick Marshall has to be content with a place on the four man bench.
