Through to the final without any sort of contest.

Might be better off playing these games on a Friday night or even a Sunday.

Now now they had a contest last Wednesday. The Ams forwards where brilliant and in the 2nd half really took the game to the Stags.

Agree with Coops but it is a great shame because the lads obviously enjoy playing in the Pyman and its games they want not byes.

Wpa do you think we the AMS thought we would win? We didnt but we still managed to get a team out from a much smaller squad than H,pool....in recent years its been a 3 horse race,we know that but still played.do you think the ams shouldnt have bothered ?

The cry offs are getting a bit silly.

I know it's difficult for some teams to get a full squad out on a Wednesday night, especially when the kick offs are coming fairly sharpish after lads getting home from work but Hartlepool are eligible to field 1st team players if they need to expanding what they have available.

If the Ath had got a squad out against Horden it would have evened the competition up.

West Stags are through to the final after 1 game.

Potentially Horden could be through after 1 game.

I know quite a few Rovers 3rd team lads would love to enter our 3rds in the competition which would be feasible given they play a similar level to Hartlepool 2nds and Athletic.

Maybe something to look at is including more teams?

But it is 1 team per club Jimmy. You cant enter more. I know this will kick of a rant or 2 but i am correct in this

It should be the lowest ranked team from every club in the town that plays in the competition (Seaton 2nds, West 3rds, Rovers 3rds, Hartlepool 2nds, BBOB, Athletic and Horden 3rds AND West Ams). That way it wouldn't be a two/three horse race every year. More teams would find it worth while and the competition would be an open affair every year with teams more likely to want to fulfil fixtures.

If we (Seaton) had beaten Hartlepool we would have fulfilled the fixture and stayed within the specified sides (our seconds) but what kind of game would that have been against the Stags? The young lads would have played the hearts out but its not much a of a learning experience getting beat by a large margin.

My two cents.

There is a massive amount of history that goes with the Pyman and has awalys been a 2nd team cup and should stay that way.
Also Dan, you appear to have accidentally missed the Ams out of your list ;-)

I'd have no objection to playing them on a Saturday, if the early rounds were played early enough it would end the debate about ringers.....but some clubs are eligible to put 1st teams in and the Ath and BBOB only have the 1 team each so league Saturdays would not help them.

Again FRLE, you appear to have accidently forgot the Ams in your list of teams with only 1 team. It's hard but we do struggle on!! :oP:oP:oP

Thought you were a Bucks player now Quinny?

Are the lads who played for the firsts last weekend eligible to play for the Stags in the Pyman then?
