What was the point of the bucks looking for another fixture other than HOB? By the looks of the bucks squad it looks like the ams wont get a team out anyway, unless we are expecting the opposition will have lots of players to lend us.Taking the p springs to mind :(

Over the last several years the U17's / U18's have used the Ams as a stepping stone from junior rugby to senior rugby and the Ams war horses have been fantastic in bringing the lads through.

This season I can count on one hand the number of U17 / 18s who have played for the Ams.

Damn shame.

Don't mind Old Boys calling off the fixture against the bucks (they probably couldn't field a team - players moving up) but you know that some of them will also move down to fulfill the 3rd team fixture!!!

If the bucks had a full squad (of their own) then fine re-arrange another fixture, then if come Saturday if they have cry-offs a decision can then be made regarding how plays for which team. But knowing this fair in advance that they didn't have a squad they should have just called our game Old Boys 3/4 V West Bucks/Ams. Instead of the bucks taking our players leaving us empty handed and not enough players to fulfill an original fixture - bang out of order!!! :(

Beer Monsterzz - I thought quite a lot of the U18s played for the AMs last week!

Contradiction a go go!

I'm sure that the AMs have played quite a few games this season that would not have gone ahead if some of the Bucks had not helped out.

And Cuddly Coach, the Bucks certainly have played games that without the Ams help would not have gone ahead

I've heard that Kerr, Robinson and Cheslin have all withdrawn themselves from the squad because John Terry had been getting in to their respective partners over a bottle of red in the West Hartlepool gym. I might be wrong though.

Surprised by some of these comments!

The Bucks have had 2 games in the last 12 weeks for a variety of reasons.
So when Hartlepool cried off 'fix.sec' arranged a fixture within a few minutes of finding out.

I can assure you that I rarely know what sort of squad the Bucks are going to get out until Saturday (Unfortunately in this era of easy communication too many people cant be bothered to say whether they are available or not!)As an example of the 18 players named last night 5 have cried off.

You know I have bent over backwards to help the Ams out when possible often going away with the bare 15 or even with less on 2 occasions.

As for the use of the term "our players" ...wow. I thought we were now 1 club!

Running the Ams is a thankless task and I commend those players that turn up week in and week out knowing that they are going to play short and often get a hiding. I wish other players in the club had their bottle.
But unfortunately that goes with the territory of being a clubs last team.

See you all tomorrow x

Chris i appreciate what you try to do each week regarding helping the Ams out. That is not what i meant with my comments. My view is if we thought as a whole we were going to struggle we should have called our game off early in the week. I know and am fully behind the theory of the firsts come first and so on down the order of the teams throughout the whole club.
There should be and isn't any us and them as far as i am concerned with the club or the teams in it.
Cheers :)

I find this debate quite ridiculous! I personally have played as many games for the ams as I have the bucks though I consider myself a west player. I have a lot of time for the lads that have kept the ams going all these years and understand why they care so much about their club! However some of the things said on here suggest there is still an us and them mentality which causes problems for everyone! If you read chris' last post it proves that it has been the bucks that have missed out on more occasions. Chris has phoned me on a Thursday or Friday on more than one occasion to explain that due to a lack of players for the bucks it would be better to cancel the bucks game rather than the ams! I feel as though people have spoke before they thought on this issue!
