Very poor game this...let's hope we can step it up next week for morley

Disappointed we didn't come away with a bonus - i didn't think we did enough to win the game but the bonus would have been nice.

Interestingly looking at past results, this is the third time this season we have lost by more then 7 but less than 10 points. Those three bonus points would certainly be handy right now!!

Sounds like some definate positives from the defensive performance again, lets move on from this and get some good turn-outs again at training so we can work on some attacking opitions and get that side of our game right. We had a great turn out to both sessions before Sheffield, lets get back to that and there's no reason why we can't put in an even better performance and turn Morley over!

there's not much to say about this match... you could see why boro have been struggling with results recently but you could also see why we have as well! They basically won the game with better territorial kicking - putting long kicks in, keeping us pinned back in our half most of the time, where as our kicking from hand wasn't as good.

I thought Chocky played really well, as did Jonny Boatman - how he got penalised for their last penalty is a mystery. Their scrum half picked it up, Boatman tackled him, he dropped the ball and then pulled Jonny back as he was going for it... there was a lot going on but none of it could result in a Boror penalty!

Also, can an expert in the laws help on this one? In the first half, Boro were about to kick downfield from a ruck close to their own line. The ball went back to the kicker and Jonny Boatman was running through for the charge down. He collided with another one of their players. I would have said their player was blocking him, but the ref blew up, presumably for tackling a man without the ball. Here's the problem - the ref gave the penalty to Boro where the kick landed, surely that should only happen for a late hit on the kicker? An off the ball incident should be penalised at the position it happened shouldn't it?

I cant comment exactly on the situation, but in effect, kick or kick is usually for a late charge...I suppose it would depend if there was any contact between the kicker and defender

are you suggesting players should run the ball even from their own in goal area and when outnumbered by opposition defenders in the 22 ?

Both sides kicked too much for me. Boro deserved to win because they hit the breakdown harder and hit a bit too much experience in certain areas but there wasn't much in it.
Biggest problem we have is that without Jordan we don't have a cutting edge and losing Hodgson so early didnt help.

Result of the weekend was Boro Wasps 10-8 Blaydon Georgians.

Blaydon and Tynedale usually rulethe roost in the Candy and the Boro lads were "Buzzin" in the club afterwards.

You're right CB, but I was referring mostly to the Boro lads "buzzin in the club afterwards".

Smog ding - The question asked was "did the stags not win the CaNDY last year?"

The answer would be NO as the Stags obviously won the Candy League, if the answer was YES then it would mean that "the stags not win the Candy"

I'm really sorry that folks are not interested in The Candy League and the opinions from other clubs. I shall leave you to arguE about oven baked pastries with your neighbours ;-)

It looks like most people on here know more about the candy league than you do! Unfortunately your English argument doesn't really work since you said in your original reply...
"No the Stags did not win the Candy league last year".

You should have said, "the answer to your question is no" or something like that when you were trying to cover up the embarrassing mistake you made in saying that Tynedale and Balydon rule the roost in the candy!

we are very interested in the Candy league and can understand Boro's delight in turing over Blaydon. From what I hear it was a vastly different Blaydon side to the one which beat us last week though
