From the outside looking in, it must be difficult to cope with the loss of a few experienced players from last season. However to say that players have not had opportunities seems to be a bit harsh, judging by the amount of players/youngsters that have been drafted in to fill these places. Be patient and team along with the youngsters will get past this difficult period. Yes they may get relegated before this happens. So What! The thing to remember is that the young lads who have played this season will, with the right coaching staff will be here for the next 10 years. I think that you should count yourselves very lucky to have the sort of talent coming through from last years U18, the year after and so on. Things are not that bad.

Couldn't stop myself from jumping on this particular bandwagon, sorry.

Westie 1, whoever you may be...

Your initial post has got to be the most stupid and unfounded post in the history of this website - and there have been a few - but at least you have been able to back it up with further ridiculous postings to demonstrate it was not a one off.

Throughout this posting people seem to have forgotten about the ancient Cheslins, old man Mossy, grandad Gav Robinson, etc., etc. Without mentioning the likes of Hodgy and Dash who people might think of as old only because they've been around so long having come into the team initially as 17 year olds.

Think before you post.

Then think again before you post again.

The coaches are dead right . Last season they brought in the experience we needes to compete in this league and no doubt we would once again be comfortable if we had been able to keep Vinicombe, Dixon, Myers etc

Thanks Peter, I didn't mention any of those players as Westie 1's original gripe referred to our back division. Not really bothered who Westie 1 is but anyone who suggests young players don't get a chance at this club is a fool.

Kids with talent need a chance, but putting them in en masse is asking for trouble - for them and for the team.
They need to be brought on slowly and given experience gradually, otherwise there's a chance they'll have their talent (and their potential) knocked out of them.
West's present may not look good, but the future does.
I don't know what you are on, Westie 1, but I'll try a pint.

"... and the Junior Academy is now being closed down!!"

Hi, im not here for the talk about Mark playing for West or the rest of the conversations, I just wanted to say that the above statement is in no way true. The Falcons Junior Academy is not closing down, I believe that due to redundancies in the academy at the start of the season the Falcons have had to reduce there academy programme. They will no longer work with as many U13 to U15 year olds (in the past they have worked with 40 plus kids during school holidays etc) they will now focus on the best players (15 to 20) at this age group every other week. To my knowledge the Junior academy (U16 to U18) will still function fully with the best players from across the area going to the club every other week.

Needless to say there is plenty of representation from west in the academy as there is from most of the surrounding clubs in the region.

Im sure Mark will explain this to anyone who is dubious or wants to know more if you see him down at the club.

All the best for the rest of the season.
