yet again i dont know how the westies dare slag off the headland given that rossmere, rift house and owton manor are only a stones throw from their ground. All of them area's are rife with smackheads and other undersirables. not everyone who plays at west lives behind the park and drinks in the white house or cricket club.
As for BBOB's facilities, a quality pitch (with a lot of history) and new changing rooms, what more could you want? although they havent got their own clubhouse, do they actually need it? they have no overheads from it and have been putting money over the bar at a local pub for years. Since i used to play for them, they've drank in the Sun Inn (now demolished), the kirkham (now closed down and turned into a house) the pot house and more recently the Cos. So, a friendly well run club supporting the local pubs. get off your high horses westies

:-D

RT ... Calm down dear, it's only a bit of fun!

We all appreciate the history of the (Old) Friarage etc. and the good pubs of the Headland.
Still have fond memories of a lock in at the Middlesbrough, having a sing-song with an old boy at the piano and of course getting totally monged!! :oD

They can't have put much money over the bars then, can they? How long before the Pot House, New Inn and the Cos close? Two of them already have for a spell.
If codheads bought their round, their pubs might do better.

Not that I want to correct anyone....but BBOB have never used the New Inn as a club house/HQ....they have used the Sun Inn though.

Also, pubs didnt close due to lack of money etc....Kirkham was sold for mass profit and turned into a house, Sun Inn demolished after the police shut it down due to security issues. Cant remember the Pot House situation but when I was playing at BBOB or reffing the pub was always heaving with plenty of beer being paid for.

dog track, the pot house didnt close through lack of customers, more to do with the landord, who incidently was the last landlord of the kirkham before turning it into a house
