Last season I think we would have had 5 extra points for scoring four tries or more and two for being beaten by less than 7 points. What difference that would have made I don't know.
Very hard start to the season but the end looks a little easier.

Presumably Tigers will be back.
This is the Halifax annoucnement today: "Halifax RUFC announces that in the season to commence September 2009 it will play in Yorkshire League VI. The Club has found it increasingly difficult, especially in the current economic climate, to maintain its semi-professional status, therefore next season it will operate wholly on an amateur basis.

The Club is pleased to say that the highly successful Vikings XV of last season will form the basis, at least, of the team for Yorkshire League VI. They will play as Halifax RUFC First XV.

The Club has also maintained its presence in the Yorkshire Merit League and it is expected that a new “Vikings” XV will fulfil fixtures at that level."

Waterloo are still where they ended up. They have started an online campaign to raise funds. For £25 you can have a say in selection etc and they intend picking the team that way apparently!! The Coach is allowed to make 4 or 5 changes from memory. They have nothing left to flog, as they have sold all their "crown jewels" over the last few years to sustain professionalism. Personally, I think they are mad

Fascinated to know how much they expect to make from this. If they had 1,000 people join in, which is highly unlikely, they would only mnake £25k and at the level they are playing I am sure that would not get them very far. They'd be better off asking loyal supporters to sponsor a player.

SCH. You need help.

PS I am sure all the players will join so they can vote for themselves to play!

What a massive cop out by Halifax!!!!!!! Does anyone remember West plummiting down the leagues after no longer being professional! I think we all remember it all to well. 5 relegations in a row was it? We took defeat after defeat on the chin and eventually found our level and steadied the ship and have since moved back up 1 level. How much easier would it have been for those players to have dropped into D/N 4 and find their level moving up over instead of down!
As for Waterloo, it sounds bizarre but at least they are having a go! good luck to them!
