OMG!

Lusher, you haven`t got a clue about what u`re talking about players at lower levels should remain there unless they have a bit about them. If they had they would have been approached or moved on themselves.

About players getting apid at West, as I understood it only the lads that travelled got paid, as I know a few West 1st teamers and they haven`t had a penny!

All I want is for West to attract new positive signings this season, with or without money and not rely on the West 2s as most NOT all of the players are not good enough!

ps nobody is Lusher then me! Fact

:-D

The only way a club can really grow and prosper is to develop a good youth section as West have and they are now reaping the benefits by turning out 4 senior teams on a regular basis

Perhaps I have been misunderstood by Lush. Obviously hoovering up a player from D&N 8 who is only good enough for that standard would be pointless; I am talking about lads who could make the step up to a more competitive level and who want to do so to test themselves. i'm sure everyone would rather that than some bloke who reckons he might be able to nip down from Blaydon or wherever and cream a bit of cash out of a club.

I think at west's level that the club should concentrate on providing good facilities, good coaching, a good mini/junior set up and a good rugby club atmosphere in general. Players will come for the good standard of rugby and atmosphere, if they only want the cash then you don't need them.

Lush, no you have not got a clue. You have just made a hugh sweeping statement that all players playing below west level are not good enough to play for west because they are not coming from a higher division.

Turn that on its head and it is like saying every player from Mowden Park will walk into Wests team because they are a league above.

In fact in your little world no players from west would get into Mowdens team because they are from a league below. So players like Myers, Kerr and Dixon would not be wanted by Mowden.

Work that out

M/J rugby at West is strong with approx. 200 players across 11 age groups. There is investment in promoting the game of rugby in the town's schools already.
Some of the U17s/U18s we have seen this season are good enough to play at 1st XV level and will do so in seasons to come.
Most of the current Senior players have come through the M/J Section. We have been fortunate to retain these players and hope to continue to do so in years to come. Some have been with the club since they were 7 or 8 year olds and remain loyal to their club.
Yes, some players will come and go in an effort to find their level and the club will always welcome new players, who wish to test themselves at West.
I don't see a big trouble here!

Err yer they did!

Again proving my point, players from above walked into the West squad but would players from leagues below walk straight in? The difference from dropping a league is benefical as they can obviously cope but players coming up are sometimes found wanting.

However it all depends on what West want

ps I`m the Lushest of them all!!

You obviously dont rate Myers then because I think he could play for any team 2 or 3 leagues above. There are many players that play in a higher league than west with players that are not good enough to get into Wests team. Just because they play in a higher division it does not automatically mean that they are a better player than what West already have.

And just becuase West play in a higher league than Rovers (just an example) it doesn't mean that no Rovers players are good enough to play in Wests team.

To say that West should only be looking for players from leagues above is narrow minded.

I think you are missing my point or maybe I am not expressing myself clearly enough.

According to Lush's theory any team playing above West's level would not be interested in signing Myers because he comes from a league below.

We all know that Myers is very capable of playing at several levels higher than what is now.

Likewise there are some players that play in leagues below west and are very capable of playing at Wests level.

Quote "So recruiting people/ players from the lower league is the worst idea since America voted in G.W.Bush!"

Try telling that to teams higher up the pecking order when they come knocking for Myers et al.

Blaydon: Hello we are interested in signing Myers
Lush: Why would you want to sign a player from 2 leagues below you.
Blaydon: Quite correct Lush we will be on our way, thanks

And why should I not be allowed to vent my opinion on a message board. I haven't offended anyone. It is you has dropped to a child like level and called me a knob. So what are people supposed to do, write one post and then "sling you hooK" because someone else doesn't agree with it, afraid that beer "the enforcer" monsterzz will not let me post anymore.
