I worked with Alex when he was at Ballast on the Dalton Park Shopping Centre. We both played practical jokes on one other and it was a great time. Because of the banter we still kept in touch with emails and it was always great to see him when he was up in Newcastle. A great lad who we will all miss. My thoughts are with his young family. RIP mate.

having seen the picture of Alex on the front page of the mail not knowing the news brought quite a lump into a fellow work collegues throat!

it's a cruel world when you lose a great lad especially at a young age.

thoughts are with your family mate and may the angels treat you as you've treated others. RIP.

Like most people I'm shocked and greatly saddened by this tragic news. I only worked with Alex for a few years whilst at Ballast construction and I have to say that he really was a lovely lad and an absolute gent. My heartfelt condolences to all his family and close friends, i know he will be greatly missed.
