3rd team cup final is between Horden & Westoe then.

Westoe beat Winlaton 12 - 0 today.

Horden seconds not have a game I heard????

Surely we are better than making these snide accusations?

Arent any players registered to the club allowed to play?dont know the rulesregarding games played and that.

Bitter in defeat why ?. It was a game you could have won with more ball, your forwards desire did not match the ability out wide this is why you did not win and no other reason. Hordens team was genuine 3rd team players apart from 1 who was included only because of injury. Theres your answer so please take the defeat as it was and stop thinking that other clubs have to cheat to beat a west side you obviously see yourselves in a different light to other clubs in the area. Perhaps a lesson in taking it on the chin might develop your club better.

Yep as 'tpg' said, a genuine 3rd team was fielded. From what I hear it was an excellent game. Very sad to hear that some Westies can't take a defeat on the chin.

As I said I do not know the rules, I just thought if you were registered you could play. People move up and down team each week.

What you need to remember these Bucks are mainly just 18/19 yr olds.

I watched them all of last year and soem of this year and they are improving every week and a lot of them will make it higher.

tpg, it works both ways tho ... i can remember last year talking to a few of your 2nd team players who were accusing us of playing too many 1st team players in the pyman cup final (which was a load of balls)

Which players were those? I played in that match and can't remember any of our players whinging about West 1st team players. I for one didn't think there was anythin wrong with the Stags team on the night. The match was a good one and was won fair and square :-)

Westie it is your club making the noise in public.

This is sad, so sad, you are heading in the direction that nearly saw your club fold, take it like men, this was a true 3rd team and i will swear on my kids life, so please grow up.

I know Horden reasonably well and I can tell you if there was even a hint of their club trying to squeeze a second teamer or two into the thirds there would be a mutiny.

I know a few of the the third teamers and they are a proud bunch of lads (sorry leds)

Congratulations should go to Horden and a well done to West's young lads on what seems to have been a hard-fought game.

I am quite dissapointed by this thread and i hope messages claiming Horden fielded second team players did not come from anyone who played in the game.

we were beaten by a better side on the day who fought till the end and turned their chances into points - that simple.

If we had battled harder up front for the ball, slugged it out then used the advantage out wide we would have won. Too many chances went begging and a daft first ten minutes in the second half put us on the back foot.

The lads showed spirit until the end however must realise that we have to play for a full 80 mins and not lose concentration aggainst teams who will battle and turn chances into points.

a lesson learnt hopefully by all players on saturday on how to compete at a senior level. After reading this thread no wonder a lot of other teams do not like us as a club!!!!
