We've just heard the sad news that John Dixon Snr sadly passed away this morning in James Cook Hospital after a short illness.

Our thoughts are with Kath, John, Angela, Tom, Gabby and family.

A lovely man who will be greatly missed by Hartlepool's rugby and cricket community.

Funeral arrangements to follow.

A wonderful fella.

One of my memories will be playing soccer in Portugal 15/16 years ago - the Over 30s played the Under 30s and we won. John didn't think there was any reason not to slide tackle etc and came off covered in bruises and scratches

It was also the trip when Dave Rusby was sitting a little worse for wear one night but reckoned he had out drunk the Dixons who just smiled.

Many happy memories of playing golf together.

Sadly I can't make the funeral but my thoughts are with Kath and all the family
