Rudd & Garse

I hear that these two are on the move, why is this? Two of our better players that could make a real impact, especially Dave Garse, good young prospect.

Cant believe we won`t put up a fight to keep them!!!!

I can only think that the coaches haven`t showed them enough encouragement over the last few months!

Hope they stay!

Hope it doesn't happen but it was always on the cards when you bring new players in. Think it is hard on these lads especially as they had just won promotion. It's not as if these new players came into a struggling side to make a differance. Problem is if these players who are not getting a game leave and then all these imports decided to move elsewhere what are you left with?

Rudd is the better of the two, Dave not exactly performed to same levels of boatman's, myers or vinnie so you can only pick your best players.

Dont think there`s any stirring of any kind of substance! Just lads wanting a game of rugby......... however I do agree with you that they should train hard and fight for their places.

I watched the game yesterday, the back row especially Myers was fantastic, backs looked like a they knew each other also! I think the switch bewteen connolly and moss worked well. Plus forwards but some hard yards in, good work WEST!

Hopefully looking good for the weekend!!

Where are Paul and Dave going rugby club wise? I'm guessing Rovers but Old Boys seem to be getting stronger too.

I agree that these lads wont be the last to leave. Also, i hope someone tries to do something about it. It should really bother those involved in the running of the club that someone like Paul would want to leave after playing such a massive part in rebuilding our club both on and off the field! Likewise, little brother Dave, has been heavily involved over the last few years and will also be missed. Unfortunately, i dont think anything will be done or much thought given to it! I assume that because both lads have not really been involved in the 1st XV this season it wont be seen as too much of a loss. However, it is a real concern in my opinion, as both lads are massively influential characters of the field. Put it this way, a lot of lads will still drink with Garse on a saturday after the rugby is played (myself included as he is a good mate of mine). The question is where will that drink be?
COME ON PEOPLE THINK BIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very concerned Oldge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is becoming more concerning that people are leaving the club because they feel like they aren't getting a fair crack of the whip. Its happened before and will no doubt continue to happen.

Paul leaving is a shocker, he played a massive part in our promotion last year and we should be looking to keep him here.

Anyone is more than welcome to speak to the coaches about the situation. But i agree with Oldge, more players will follow and some are on the brink of the first team.

We need to have a think as a club as to what we do and how we select our teams.

Many people are saying again, "if your face fits". Not good to hear at training.

Don't know about things said at training as i ain't there but we as a whole should always try to keep all of our players at the club. I know people move on and not everyone can fit into 1 club. I would have thought coaches would have spoken to Paul and Dave about their leaving of the club...if it is true of course.
Both will be a big loss to the club but what is more worrying to me is there seems quite a few players 'missing' and not playing now. Where have they gone and why??

I've heard numerous stories of players unhappy.

Apprently one player - First/2nd Team Regular is going on tour with another club in the town.

Two or three stuck in the Bucks team when they are clearly destined or have the ability for a higher standard.

One in particular player sat on the bench week in and week out only getting 10 or twenty minutes every saturday.

I could go on.. But I agree, we need a better selection policy. Darlington maybe bottom of the league, but least they are giving their own a chance, and not bringing players from all around the North East.. Although if someones getting paid.. they've got to play as it would be a waste of money otherwise..

Every player ive ever played with thinks hes better than he is and that includes me. Look Garse said it wasn't the club he was upset with so why jump on the bandwagon of team selection? Everyone who trains or watchess the first team knows that give or take the odd position we are fielding just about our strongest XV at the moment and competition for places is good for all our sides.
For me the players who are beefing on this week are a disgrace given the importance of the cup game at the weekend.

Come on WEST!

I usually see eye to eye with you CB but not on this one! I am certainly not beefing on about anything, its a situation that exists and needs addressing! I will agree that the issue is not really selection and i never said it was. I know the game is a big one on saturday and am hoping for a massive result but it doesn't mean this debate has to wait cos there will always be a reason not to have it!
At any club there is always selection debates and people being upset at which team they are in. Obviously this is particularly bad if you have 4 senior teams, however, it shouldn't make you want to leave 'YOUR CLUB' but for some reason people do not see it as 'THEIR CLUB' at this time.

Also CB, where did Garse say it wasn't about him being upset with the club?
