The only room it could go in is the upper lounge which is freezing cold, leaky and crumbling and urgently needs replacing. Spending any money on it at the moment would be daft as we want it replacing with bricks and mortar as soon as possible.

I have been thinking about this players chit system, as described by DP and LS, and it doesn't make sense, I'm sorry.
If the beer is paid out for the players subs and it doesn't cost the club anything why not just get the players to buy their own beer.

It is just a little something back to the players i think

The chits cover the cost of the beer.

Again WPA why are you worrying about the chit thing when it does not affect you?

The price of beer affects me. According to this latest information which seems to have been reluctantly provided the club is "selling" more than 200 pints at cost every week.
That must mean the rest of us are having to pay over the odds to make up the difference.

I dont think it is anywhere near 200 pints a week considering it is only home games they get them for.

Nice to see The Club is moving back to a period of unconrolled spending, with out the income to match it.

Some of todays committe have experience of such times. I hope the outcome is not the same.

This too was a time when over pricing drove people to other establishments, reducing the money being spent in the club and a lack of support for social events.

3 teams at home 60 players involved makes 180 pints. I stand corrected.

On the pool table issue it's madness. That room is full of kids playing video games and throwing rugby balls around and bouncing off the furniture. They'd wreck a pool table within one day.

I don't honestly think that is correct. A lot of the people on the committee's work hard for the club and get totally nothing out of it apart from seeing the club grow and prosper. You can see for yourself how much the club has improved over the last few years.
This issue about the chits is over nothing as it is not costing the club anything and the beer is not that dear surely??

WPA, 4 teams play out of West thus approx 144 chits with including 3 subs. I get to this figure as normally 2 teams each week at home and 2 away.
Regarding the pool table, if people monitored their kids all would be fine

Two reasons we go elsewhere - price of beer and nowhere for the lads to sit and have a laugh before they go down town. we used to go in the other room but now its always freezing and full of kids chasing each other about. The cricket kicks them out at 9

LS that hardly cheers me up. Looks to me like we give the players beer at cost and when they've drunk that they go somewhere else

Maybe some good can come out of this thread and people can positively look at ways of keeping them in the club??
It is cold in that side room but not sure what can be done with it being the way it is and may not be viable at the moment. Not sure what plans are afoot regarding brick build. But there again there must be some way of getting some heat in there and the electrics in there aint the best either.
I thought that room was a good place to put the kids as it were but not to let them run amok. I am not saying they all do but some do.
