Oh dear. We seem to have been drawn into a hornet's nest. As a matter of principle I think Geoff Clayton has a valid point. These College sides already have their own highly competitive leagues and I am not sure why they want to also play in the league structure on a Saturday.

Lets not all get too down hearted , did it really matter who West was drawn against , admitedly a home draw would have been nicer but on the day its 15 against 15 , i`m sure preparations will go well and the lads will be looking forward to meeting Hartbury head on , someone has to beat them sometime .... why not us !!!!!!!

I apologise that my posting on your site has drawn your club into my conflict with Malcolm Wharton of Hartpury College and his PR machine. That was not my intention and for that I am truly sorry. May I say go and enjoy your day out in Gloucestershire, and even with all my reservations I wish you the very best of luck. I am sure you will give a magnificent account of yourselves, and perhaps when the result is known you would be kind enough to post your thoughts regarding Hartpury on your forum, as I would be interested to see if any concur with mine.

I was there the day we beat gloucester at kingsholme and apparently we didn't have a chance then but the guys believed in themselves and this is what we need to do now. If the lads perform then why can't we go further, yes it will be hard but so it was that day too. Lets go for it there was nothing to lose that day and nobody thinks we can do the business now. Lets get down there and shout the guys on!

Can't believe the bleating. Unfortunately Hartpury were placed ina league below their level, it will even out, correct me if I am wrong but Loughborough Students are in national 3. They cannot be blamed for being too good for the level in which they were placed. I could give several examples of rugby clubs with cash trouncing everyone in their division and cups in recent years and nobody declares that as wrong.

I welcome the universities playing in the leagues, when I was there we played BUSA Leagues on Wednesday, but the majority of our better players either went home to play "serious" rugby on Saturdays or played for the senior local teams.

I don't think anyone from West is bleating apart from bemoaning the fact that we have had four away cup games and none at home.

WPA, i agree. All the moaning is from people outside West. Let's just go there and do the business!!!

lets be honest here, you all sound so scared. your making excuses before you have even played. i dont think its hartpury's fault that the RFU put them in such a low league, i cant be much fun for them winning 100-0 every match! all this talk of academy sides are nonsense, they are students of hartpury college thats all. if they were any good they would be contracted to gloucester, then loaned out to other clubs. you sound jealous of there ability......i have watched them play before and you have to be honest and say they are good, and its good to see young lads playinf good rugby. its important for our development of rugby in england!! these players have to be talented to win the BUSA championships 2 years running however that doesnt make them professionals. in actual fact they pay to play or Hartpury because they have to pay fees. im sure non of your players woould do that!! good luck in the match but dont blame Hartpury for being talented, you will find they are a very welcoming team who act admirably!!
