Rovers never got bored and wrapped in to form a footy team circa 1908 that for many years was know as Hartlepool United Nil, a bit like West Hartlepool in their slide from the top flight.

Rovers have not to my knowledge been the subject of Insolvency proceedings.

Rovers own the tract of land from the Phoenix Centre to the Friarage, the embankments behind the club up to the Old Cemetery Road and the Railway Line enough land to place several pitches and clubhouses (and as I understand it, soon to be developed).

Rovers don't go around telling everyone they have 4 teams when they really have 2 and half plus a club they share a ground with and steal players from to make up a 3rd team.

The Rovers supporters will stick with them through thick and thin and won't disappear as soon as any success fades.

You can have good craic in Rovers cos Rovers are not up their own ar$e.

Regarding the England game it was not packed and the big Marquee that was put in place was not really needed as the price put an awful lot of people off going.

There will be a time when West re-convene their inglorious slide back down the leagues but just not now, therefore "make hay while the sun shines". Just don't spit your dummies out when the shoe's on the other foot.

Hang on Coops, are Rovers not the current team to be relegated? And West promoted and holding there own in the new league.

Lets be honest, if Rovers had the pleasure of being in West's league, they would currently be: "Played 11 - Won - 0 Drawn - 0 Lost - 11".

Livestrong 7

You are correct. West are currently doing quite well - as can be seen by the increase in West ties on show in the cricket club most weekends.

To be fair Rovers could never compete with West's number of relegations (which must be some sort of record) - so well done on that as well.

I take all of this in the good humour it's meant. Interesting though how a lot of West fans who post on here seem to forget the not to distant past when you couldn't raise one team and had lads who had never even played teh game before turning out. I for one would be a lot more humble.

I also notice that the usual dig of Rovers "paying players" seems to have dried up now the Mowden mafia have turned up.
