Re: Sad News At Rovers

On the light side, dont scare me like that.........
Having just returned from work in Germany, I read your message and panicked but to my relief I found that our club was still standing, all bricks and morter.
I was thinking though what a terrible tragedy it would be if all that genuine rugby history was lost, you know, like the fact the Rovers:-
Where the 1st ream to play the Barbarians (program in the club)
Where played the NZ Moari's and Allblacks (progammes in the club)
Record Durham County Cup Winners
Programs in the new re-furbished lounge from as far back as 1891
RF Oakes memoribilia from when Rovers had 3 club members on the 6 man England Selection committee
I could go on but I wont.........however, I did notice that when driving home I was passing Brierton Lane, where has your club 'gone' there seemed to be a housing development on it, but the biggest shock was when I continued along Catcote road I notice a rather ramshackle looking selection on portacabins with your flag flying above it...........surely not.
People in glass houses Mr 'on-the-light-side shouldn't throw stones.
