Im not even a westie but cant help but bite it just pains me that people can be so deluded.

To call Sunderland one of the favourites to be promoted from D&N 1 shows how out of touch with reality you are. The Wearsiders have been impressive in recent years but they have lost players to Darlington Mowden Park, Westoe and Blaydon whilst others have retired or moved out of the area.

No doubt Rovers are probably the favourites to go up and good luck to them but so you should be with the financial investment in players undertaken over the close season.

not sure why the title of this post is "told you so", seeing as you actually told us boro would win last saturday.

I thought the told you so was the fact that supercodhead is a knob.
Nobody needs to be told that as everyone knows!

I hate to bring this up again but

What the dickens is Hello ! on about. Financial investment in players? Rovers have enlisted exactly one extra in the close season and had a re-arrangement of coaching staff. Others were already in place last season. It would have been marvelous to see some more new faces but it didn't happen.

West on the other hand have brought in about half a dozen.

We all know some players (hopefully all) receive "expenses", at most levels and definetly at West and Rovers and Old Boys etc. etc. etc.

Well ok the financial investment was made last season ( as you later mention and admit by saying the players "were in place" ).

I dont know why you mention West or glass houses as I am certainly not from Hartlepool.

I change my original statement slightly to accommodate your criticism

Note good luck to you ! I am sure that all the rest of D&N 1 wish they had the same opportunity to offer "expenses" to ex Mowden players etc.

yeah because rovers latest recruit (the one extra in the close season) returned because he wanted the challenge of playing in D&N1!!!!!!!!!!!! me thinks not!!!

In response to Hello !'s last post - Coops is correct in that other than teh new coaching arrangements the "financial arrangments" to which you refer are a grand total of one player - whose ex-colleague's mostly signed for West. It's a bit rich having a dig at us.

the other players you are probably referring two were at the club not only last season but also the season before.

I personally think we should all be glad that the tide has turned and many of the top class players produced in teh town are no longer playing theri trade at either of the Darlo clubs

I am not having a dig at Rovers and I wish you well in your quest to return to NE2.

My point was that those of us who know what is going on in D&1 can clearly see that Sunderland will definately NOT be one of the promotion favourites this season and as always SCH was way over the top ( but I guess thats what gives him enjoyment and us lots to debate about ! ).

I stand by my comments though that given the investment in players (and well done to you for getting Pool lads back in town) you HAVE to be favourites to be promoted and the rest of us in the division can only look on (with some envy) and try to derail you !
