With all the new signings just wondering what people think on next years team selection. Who would you like to see in the starting 15 come the first league game?

15 Dixon
14 Thorn
13 Hodgy
12 Howe
11 Painter
10 Connely
9 Tighe
8 Jonny Boatman
7 Myers
6 Danny Boatman
5 Robinson
4 Dixon
3 Norris
2 Dixon
1 Carr

16 Carlo
17 Sawyer/ Viddicombe
18 Andy Cheslin

Personally, I would have Thorn in the centre. He should have been there last season! Rob didn't get enought of the ball.
We are weak in the centres.
We lack creativity, which will be needed at North 1.
Is Connelly a 10?
Wouldn't Jamie be better served in the centre?
Can Dixon play 10?
If Dixon plays 10, we need a full-back!

Would like to see Rob in the centre but don't know who we would play on the wings? I put Jamie in at 10 because i don't think mossy is mobile enough for the next step up and dont think we have many other options at ten. I don't think Dixon can play ten but he is also another option for the centre.

Sawyer at 6 for me; you'll need a touch of class in the division up, I'd leave the big lad at 10, he tackles and can kick or what about Painter, doesn't he play there?

Not at North1!
Painter is best on the wing, although we do have some strength in depth on the wing, so no guarantee there to get his place.
Where's Danny Weegram these days?

Scrum Half is a position we need to look at for next season.

In reply to Danny, i was led to believe that he stopped due to too many injuries which affected his work, Briertonian .... do you mean we need to look at whos available to play 9 for the 1st team or need to look 4 a new 9 ? I believe either Tighe or Tinks can do a gd enough job for the 1st team, tho is Tighe available from the start of the season i heard his wife is giving birth around that time,

It seems remarkably early to be picking a team.

Yes, we do have some new faces but I think its important to remember that, with the young squad we have, players will emerge over the summer from within.

Going in to a new league will put pressure on people, as will the new faces, and this means everyone has to up their game, both on and off the field. So its all very exciting and I am sure we will all step up to the challenge

if we don't have mossy at 10 who'll be kicking the goals? suppose tom dixon is an option but other than that do we have any other goal kickers?
kicking your penalties will no doubt be even more crucial in this league

im suprised at peoples reactions to who will be in the starting line up next season, a lot of names missing from who started last season, lets not forget its the lads from last season who have got us where we are susrely they deserve there chance again.

i agree with west fan! The likes of Paul Rudd, both Cheslins, Tinker and Hendo etc... who all played an important role last season deserve a chance and no doubt will be involved in Tims plans

As a coach I hate it when people take such treads seriously

It only leads to upsetting people and negative vibes. All players in my team are there on merit and all the subs have to oust them with performance in training.

West is no longer my club as I have moved on to pastures new but I suggest to the players ignore such speculation and get on with impressing the coaches.

Impressing the coaches is the key.

I wouldnt have a problem with someones opinion on their preferred 15 if still a player. Its the coaches you need to impress.

This is a silly set of messages. Last season more than 30 players played for the first team and no doubt it will be the same again this season.
The coaches have strengthened the squad by adding players with experience and proven pedigree, and any club in any sport which gets promotion and does not do that will almost certainly come straight back down.
It is now up to each and every player to prove themselves in training and then on the pitch.
