Call it "Foremans" for about 6 months as that must be his average time spent at a club...........................

Nice to see you comparing your self to Old Boys you goon.

They are a far better club and they don't pay their players.

Rugby Observer

'They are a far better club and they don't pay their players'.

rovers offered more money than west could get over it west pay their players so thats not a very viable argument

The fact is Mr Foreman had to make decision based on what was best for him and his family and that is what he has done....he should really be applauded as im sure that if given the choice D&N1 would not be the level he would choose to play at

All clubs pay players whether they admit it or not, I dont see why there should be a stigma attached to it or why it should be seen as a bad thing

In all honesty it is very difficult for any club to become big or the biggest in any area without significant financial backing. Having witnessed what happens to teams that make it to the national leagues without a strong backer it is clear to see that in order to become a big club you need money to ensure a club can survive at that level....regardless of history

Think "Rugby Observer" was trying to say Old Boy's do not pay their players unlike Rovers, but to an extent Old Boy's do too.

They may argue they pay their coaches only, but last season "Howie, Brownie and Coulson" were all paid whilst playing a full season and provided the playing backbone of the team!

However, I think Old Boys have jut sacked Howie in favou of keeping Brown as head coach. So a few changes happening over there too.

Thigs may well be a little different next season because of the level the team will be playing at but West have not played players in the last few seasons thats for sure.

t spoon, your grasp of the english language is stunning, if your having problems wondering what i mean ask one of your mates to tell you.

To say old boys don't pay players is very funny, we couldn't afford Alan Brown or Coulson.

t spoon its one and the same, cb you will have a better knowledge than me on who has or has not been paid in recent seasons but with this insider knowledge you will also know that players ARE being paid this season

As I said next season may be different because of the level the firsts will be playing at.
But you gave the impression that West have always been paying players and it isnt true. Seems to me that as soon as one club s successful in rugby then all the other turns round and say its only cos they pay or get a sponsor to pay a player. We got promotion without doing that and deserve some credit.

cb the credit is promotion into north one, well done on a fine season, are you sure no 'expenses' were paid, any way i agree in that if any club does well everyone just implies it is through money, but a lot of people have talked about the darlington clubs for example, when players went and played for them, now it is reversed with the same players comming the other way thats fine, but lets not pretend that the 'match fees' are not a factor

A lot of this thread is typical West arrogance.

Say what you like about Andrew but he very much enjoyed his previous stint at Rovers, which is probably why he's come back. Rovers fans could have levelled the same accusations as to why he's signed for us when your lot announced that his ex Mowden teamates had signed for West, given that those players have themselves dropped a significant level (and I'm sure are being handsomely rewarded for it).

Do us all a favour and give up this holier than thou garbage. We all know that players still on West's books have made more than a few quid playing for the club in years gone by.

I'm certain that if Andrew had signed for West all the same message boarders would be singing his praises.

I notice that very few of your first team post on here, and even fewer on threads like this. Perhaps some should take note of that and concentrate on the tough battle you'll face next year rather than crying becuase a top local player has signed elsewhere.
